Work We Turn Down
We don't quote a torsion spring job or a full opener swap over the phone without seeing the door first. Spring size depends on door weight, drum size, and winding cable length, and those vary even between houses built the same year. Most homes in this service area went up between 1956 and 2014, with the bulk of the stock dating to the 1980s and '90s across the 23 named areas we cover - which means a lot of doors here are on original hardware that's been re-cabled once or twice already. A photo helps us narrow things down, but a number we give without walking up to the door is a guess, not a quote.
We also won't price a door we haven't looked at if there's visible frame damage, water staining on the header, or a track that's been bent and re-bent. Those jobs usually need a carpenter or a different trade involved before the door itself gets touched, and we'll tell you that up front instead of taking the job and running into it halfway through.
We don't do new construction installs tied to a builder's spec sheet we haven't seen, and we don't quote jobs sight-unseen where the customer describes the opener as "the old kind" - there are too many old kinds. If you can send a photo of the brand plate, we can usually get you a real number before we show up.
Plain Answers
An accurate quote needs four things: the door's rough age or the brand plate if you can find it, whether it's one door or two, what's actually not working (won't open, opens but drops, makes a noise, remote's dead), and a photo if you can manage one. That's usually enough for us to tell you a range before a truck leaves.
What we can't price without seeing the door: anything involving the spring (size and wind direction matter and they're not visible in most photos), a bent track where we need to check how far out of plumb it is, and any job where the opener is mounted to a ceiling that doesn't look original to the door. We'll ask before we guess.
Climate here is mild with occasional freeze risk, which is easier on steel doors than a lot of the country - but it still means nylon rollers and weatherstripping age out over a couple decades of Gulf humidity, same as the rest of the housing stock built in that '56 to 2014 window. If your door is original to a house from that era, tell us that up front; it changes what parts we bring.
We work on residential garage doors and openers - springs, cables, rollers, tracks, panels, and openers. We don't do commercial roll-up doors or gate operators.
Getting Hold of Us
Call 1-281-626-2044 and tell us what the door's doing, or isn't doing. We're based at 1408 Illinois Ave, South Houston, TX 77587, and we cover the area out to around 15 to 20 miles - that reaches places like Galena Park, Jacinto City, Bellaire, West University Place, and Aldine, plus the closer-in areas like Meadowbrook and South Belt/Ellington.
If you're not sure whether you're in range, just call. Distance isn't usually the issue - door type and what's broken is what decides the quote. Median household income across the service area runs close to $95,000, and most of the households we work with are homeowners rather than renters, which tends to mean doors get fixed rather than left broken, but that's background, not a reason to skip giving us the details.
The fastest way to a real number is still the phone call: age of door, number of doors, what it's doing, and a photo if you've got one. We'll tell you honestly if it's a fifteen-minute fix or a parts order.
Frequently asked questions
Can you give me a price over the phone?
For simple jobs - a dead remote, a sensor out of alignment - often yes. For springs, cables, or anything structural, we need to see the door. Door weight and hardware size change the parts and the price, and guessing wrong either overcharges you or means we show up without the right parts.
Do you charge for coming out to look?
We don't have a stated trip fee in what we can confirm here - call and ask when you book, and we'll tell you straight before anyone drives out, so there's no surprise on the invoice.
What areas do you actually cover?
We're based in South Houston and generally cover out to about 15-20 miles, including Galena Park, Jacinto City, Bellaire, West University Place, Seabrook, and Aldine, plus closer areas like Meadowbrook and South Belt/Ellington. If you're near the edge of that range, call and ask.
My house is older - does that matter for the quote?
Yes. Housing in this area mostly dates from 1956 to 2014, with a lot built in the 1980s and '90s. Older doors sometimes run original torsion hardware that newer parts don't match directly, so tell us the rough age of your house or door when you call.
